Calvin D. Lawrence is a Black technologist who works for IBM, one of the most recognized AI firms, tackling technical and business difficulties via the use of AI and other emerging technologies. Calvin is a Distinguished Engineer and a member of IBM’s AI Ethics Board and IBM’s Academy of Technology. He holds over 25 industry patents and has dozens of published papers and articles on the topic of AI and other emerging technology spaces. He is a sought-after technology speaker and podcaster.
Calvin’s job at IBM provides him with unceasing opportunities to work with new and research technologies and use them in different dynamics. As a Black engineer, he is aware of this since he understands how technology works and how easily biases can be added. As a result, Calvin feels that Black technology expertise comes with a specific responsibility, which he eagerly accepts. Using his community dedication, he hopes to do his utmost to establish a distinguished future for future Black generations.
